Internet has become an important part of everyday’s life. Everyone uses the internet for various purposes. Kids use it to play online games and to download music. Working people use it to do business online. Due to its popularity, many new features have been added to the internet like e-banking, e-conference, etc. The broadband internet specials are these features because they are tailor made for these types of high speed connections. However, the accessibility of the internet is limited to big cities and the high speed broadband internet connection is not found in rural areas. The only way to access internet in rural areas is through dial up- connection. Here the connection speed is very slow and the connection often gets disconnected.
The disadvantage of staying in rural areas has been overcome by satellite internet nowadays. These offer speeds which are quite close to the speeds achieved using broadband connection. I initially had only dial-up connection in my house and experienced many problems. It would take a very long time to download anything from the internet. The phone lines will be busy when the internet is connected and so we cannot make any calls during that period. Also the connection was not reliable will get disconnected every now and then. Difficulties I faced with this dial-up connection made me switch to satellite internet. Now speed of my internet connection has increased leaps and bounds and its very fast and highly reliable. I would encourage all those who have dial-up connection in their home to go for satellite internet.
