Ireland In, Australia Out:

A fantastic turn of events happened in ICC world Twenty20. Australians crashed out of ICC world Twenty20 losing both their group matches to West Indies and Sri Lanka. Their tournament started late and ended pretty soon. It lasted only for 3 days. They didn’t seem like world beaters. They were pretty bad with the bat and horrible with the ball. Their pace spearhead Brett Lee’s poor form resulted in their dismal show as he leaked runs and went for a plenty. There was no spin to put the brakes on the opposing teams during the middle overs.

Ireland on the other hand enjoyed another run into the second stage of ICC World Twenty20 as they beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets. They played like a team and they had that hunger to win. They were the less fancied team and hence they had little pressure. They made full use of it and they thrashed Bangladesh to enter into Super Eights. Cricket once again managed to pull its bag of surprises and the entire cricketing fraternity was shocked and thrilled as the events unfolded.
